The PROTO RUNNER 1 is designed to support natural running mechanics, accommodating both pronation and supination for a comfortable and adaptable ride across various runner types. Inspired by Greek athletic heritage, this performance sneaker has been rigorously lab-tested to deliver both stability and energy efficiency.
At the heart of its design is the AXICORE technology, engineered to mimic the biomechanics of the human body. AXICORE distributes impact and returns energy across multiple axes using a flexible, tendon-like structure, allowing for a fluid, responsive stride. This innovative core provides energy return with a dual-phase impact distribution system, transferring force between the heel and forefoot to enhance stability and responsiveness.
The sole is structured to combine flexibility and strength, with two independent sections for the forefoot and heel connected by a tendon supported by a carbon plate. This unique design creates a smooth, natural transition from heel to toe while managing lateral forces to prevent torsion, resulting in an impressively stable ride.
Through hundreds of miles of testing across facilities in Oregon, Geneva, and Athens, as well as performance evaluations with professional runners, the PROTO RUNNER 1 has consistently received high marks. Analysis at Heeluxe Labs also confirmed strong ratings in cushioning and energy return, placing the Proto Runner above average in comparison to other high-performance shoes. Additionally, tests noted diminished impact forces on the heel and praised the shoe for "excellent stability and comfort."
In summary, the PROTO RUNNER 1 stands out as a high-performance running shoe for runners seeking stability, efficient energy return, and a natural connection to the ground—offering both comfort and endurance for optimal performance.
