Rave Culture Is Revived With Boy’s Own 2nd Limited-Edition Capsule Collection
Author: Mark Haddon | Wednesday 6th November 2024
Boy’s Own returns with Collection No.2, a line of tees that dives deep into the legacy of British club culture and acid house. First launched in 1986 by Terry Farley, Cymon Eckel, Steve Mayes, Steve Hall, and the late Andrew Weatherall, Boy’s Own was originally a zine that embodied the raw spirit of London’s burgeoning house music scene. This second collection pays homage to those pioneering days, capturing the underground vibe that defined the era.
Each tee in Collection No.2 incorporates rare graphics, original zine content, and photos from acid house photographer Dave Swindells. Standout pieces include the “East Grinstead Flyer” tee, which recalls the unforgettable 1989 party invite, and designs inspired by the zine’s iconic motifs like Uppers and Downers and Terrace Rumblings. With a DIY aesthetic that feels straight from the late '80s, each shirt revives Boy’s Own’s rebellious energy, making it feel fresh for today’s scene.
Available from Thursday, November 7, 2024, the limited collection will be stocked at select retailers, including END., Garbstore, and Dover Street Market (with an exclusive design). For fans of music, fashion, and counterculture, Collection No.2 is more than just a release—it’s a tribute to the mindset that shaped a generation.
