The LRG Dead Serious Hoodie Returns With Artist Collaborations For ComplexCon
Author: Mark Haddon | Sunday 3rd November 2024
In celebration of its 25th anniversary, Lifted Research Group (LRG) is bringing back its most iconic piece, the Dead Serious hoodie, with a unique twist for today’s streetwear fans. Known for its bold skeleton design and significant cultural impact, the hoodie has become a staple in LRG's legacy since its debut, famously worn by style icons Kanye West and Travis Scott. This classic item is set to make a powerful comeback at ComplexCon in Las Vegas, with fresh takes designed by a line-up of high-profile collaborators from across the streetwear and art worlds.
LRG is elevating this re-release by partnering with influential designers and brands like Sean Wotherspoon, Bobby Hundreds (The Hundreds), Nick Diamonds (Diamond Supply Co), Shane Gonzalez, and more. Each collaborator has reimagined the Dead Serious hoodie through their own aesthetic, creating exclusive variations that will debut at ComplexCon alongside the original hoodie.
The hoodie has long been a “grail” piece in the streetwear scene. Designer Shane Gonzalez remembers it as a defining piece of his youth: “The Dead Serious hoodie was the holy grail of my early teenage years...This is for 13-year-old me, and hopefully a younger generation can appreciate the importance of this as well.” Bobby Hundreds also speaks to its lasting impact, noting, “Although LRG and The Hundreds have lived two different timelines, our legacies are intertwined in the culture. When worlds collide...”
In addition to the reimagined hoodies, the event will showcase a range of limited-edition items like skateboards, baseball bats, and batting gloves inspired by the Dead Serious design. ComplexCon attendees can visit LRG’s “Dead Serious” installation to view these items, and the OG black hoodie will be available for purchase as a tribute to its legacy.
This collection not only honors the original design but brings new life to a piece that has defined eras of streetwear and continues to resonate with the culture. Available at ComplexCon, this updated Dead Serious lineup provides fans—new and old—the chance to own a piece of streetwear history.
