Mercedes-Benz has introduced the latest chapter in its ongoing partnership with Moncler, unveiling the limited-edition G-Class Past II Future at the “City of Genius” event in Shanghai. This exclusive release, designed by renowned fashion icon NIGO, reimagines the classic 1990s G-Class, blending its iconic design with contemporary luxury for a fresh, forward-looking aesthetic.
NIGO’s creative flair comes to life through “Project G-Class Past II Future,” a one-of-a-kind art piece that has inspired this limited series. The revamped G-Class features a striking two-tone olive green and grey exterior, highlighted with black and gold detailing. Signature touches like the foldable windscreen and rear-mounted spare wheel bring a nod to the original design, while inside, the checked seat upholstery adds a nostalgic feel. The gold and orange accents tie the interior to the broader fashion collaboration with Moncler, creating a seamless fusion between automotive and style.
With only 20 units being produced, the G-Class Past II Future is set to be a highly coveted collector’s item, adding a rare and innovative chapter to Mercedes-Benz’s 45-year legacy with the G-Class. This project is a masterful blend of 90s nostalgia and cutting-edge design, reflecting how NIGO’s vision of urban culture has been redefined for the modern era.
Additionally, this collaboration will expand beyond the vehicle itself, with a capsule fashion collection launching in April 2025. The collection will feature gender-neutral streetwear with bold prints and timeless silhouettes, capturing the same vintage-meets-modern vibe that defines the G-Class Past II Future.
