Adidas SPZL has partnered with legendary DJ, artist, and cultural icon Goldie to launch the limited edition Goldie SPZLtrainer, celebrating two major milestones: the 10th anniversary of Adidas SPZL and the 30th anniversary of Metalheadz, Goldie’s groundbreaking music label. This collaboration brings together Goldie’s deep roots in music, art, and style with Adidas SPZL’s unique ability to fuse archival designs with modern influences.

Goldie has been a longtime supporter of Adidas SPZL, previously fronting their Autumn/Winter 2017 campaign, and has maintained a strong relationship with the brand’s founder, Gary Aspden, for years. Speaking about the collaboration, Goldie explained how the adidas Forest Hills trainer he admired as a kid inspired the Goldie SPZL. “This year marks a special anniversary for both SPZL and Metalheadz, so I couldn’t be happier to remix an icon into something new”, said Goldie.

The Goldie SPZL silhouette takes inspiration from the iconic Silverbirch SPZL, refreshed with unique details that reflect Goldie’s signature style and artistic legacy. The tonal white upper is enhanced with faux-stingray leather overlays, paying homage to Goldie’s B-Boy roots, while gold stripes and heel detailing contrast with a pop of pink on the tongue label, a color symbolic of Goldie’s early graffiti days. Each shoe features laser-cut logos Adidas SPZL’s Mod Trefoil on one foot, and the Metalheadz logo on the other celebrating Goldie’s trailblazing label. The footbeds are adorned with Goldie’s custom artwork, inspired by the pink shade he developed as a graffiti artist.

Reflecting on the use of pink, Goldie shared its significance in his artistic journey: “As graffiti kids, pink was hard to come by, and now I’ve created my own shade of it. Honoring that color in this collaboration feels like walking on top of the world I’ve built as an artist”.

The limited edition Goldie SPZL trainer will drop on October 10th through adidas Confirmed and select Adidas SPZL stockists. To celebrate the release, Goldie will be performing a DJ set at adidas Originals on Carnaby Street, London, on October 10th. Don’t miss your chance to grab a piece of this exclusive collaboration, where fashion, music, and art collide.
