Songer and D Double E Go Down Under On 'TONKZ' Featuring Nerve
Author: Tom Dingley | Monday 2nd September 2024
Songer and D Double E have enlisted Australian rapper on their new track titled 'Tonkz' - which comes with an accompanying music video.
Produced by Nerve himself, "TONKZ" is a fusion of grime, hip-hop, and bass-heavy sounds that perfectly complement the raw energy of Songer and D Double E’s respective verses. D Double E opens the track with the hook and his legendary ad-libs before Songer comes in and spits his bars with his usual confident swagger and assured style.
Nerve takes the second verse and shows why he is one of Australia's hot upcoming talents at the moment. With a flow that matches the energy of the track, witty bars and the cadence of a rapper who has been doing this for years, Nerve makes it known that he has what it takes on a track like this. This verse leads into a short back-to-back between Songer and Nerve before D Double E spits his verse - which is as just as good as you would expect from an icon in the scene with his reputation as an MC.
Directed by Tom Bailey, the music video takes a comedic approach, opening the first scene with a dictionary reference to the track's title, “To strike with a heavy flow”, it’s safe to say they’ve done exactly that in this track throughout.
The music video is here, check it out now.
