Continuing its authentic connection to the communities behind the game's culture, Lovers F.C have headed to Jamaica to shoot their latest collaboration with the kings of iconic branding RIZLA. Jamaica is a country like no others and its cultural influence is and has been felt worldwide through music, fashion and art for many years. Intended as their way of paying due respect, these collaboration shirts are a celebration of the vibrant multinational borderless island and the ever evolving football shirt meets popular culture crossover lead by Lover's F.C.
With an effort to remain as authentic as possible, the shoot was created by key players in the island's creative scene including Odessa Chambers , who is not only the daughter of the legendary reaggae artist Jimmy Cliff but also a film producer, brand developer and key tastemakerof the island itself. The female talent is no less than upcoming dancehall scene artist Aza Lineage.
Using the knowledge of the islanders themselves, the shoot took place at some of the most iconic spots imbedded in the subcultures local to the Jamaica. From the number one spot of Sceechies, to the huge sound system speaker stacks of Hermitage to The Barbican Market, the legendary Effey Fruits owned by local community hero Aunt Effey. As well as the world-renowned Hellshire Beach where Kingstonians come to eat fresh and chill out by the sea.
