Stormzy returns from his length 2 year solo release hiatus with a brand new music video featuring limitless influential figures titled 'Mel Made Me Do It'.
After a long hiatus from releasing his own music and , Stormzy is back with a brand new 11-minute surprise drop titled 'Mel Made Me Do It'. The first thing to mention about the music video for this track is the number of influencial acts that feature throughout. We see the likes of Ian Wright, Stylo G - who drops a couple of lines himself - ZeZe Millz, Jonathan Ross, Dina Asher-Smith, Dave, Little Simz, and the most surprising of all, the Special One - Jose Mourinho, to name but a few.
The track sees Stormzy showcase why despite his long break, he is still highly regarded as one of the top artists in the scene. With a staggered flow pattern, along with the Knox Brown produced beat - bound to have peoples heads nodding from start to finish with the subtle guitar that cuts through in the background, the heavy bass drum kicks - that sound even better when they come back in after the beat cuts occasionally.
The lyrical content consists of Stormzy flexing - as if the visuals and the ability to draw in some of the cameos featured weren't enough; and seemingly addressing particular instances and asserting his status in the game despite the fact he has not been as active as he once was.
Despite there not being an announcement at the end of the video, fans who saw Stormzy on his tour earlier this year will know that he teased a new album coming later this year. This new release seems to be the beginning of the lead up to the anricipated 3rd studio album from Big Mike.
