Eldé Shares Her Take On An "Anti-Love Song" With 'Take It From Me' Drop
Author: Chloe Mykel | Monday 23rd May 2022
I had the pleasure of sitting down with West London songstress, the insanely talented Eldé to get the tea on her latest release 'Take It From Me' and much more...
How did you become 'Eldé'? What's the story of origin behind your artist alias?
When I started singing I spent a while trying to solidify my sound. My Instagram username name has been '@lordedollas' for as long as I can remember, and me and a friend of mine at the time just abbreviated it - that's how 'Eldé' was born!
'Take It From Me' just dropped (and I love it by the way) - what has the reception been like so far?
The reception has been amazing - I've had loads of "this was just what i needed" messages from the ladies. The response to both the song and the video so far has been great - I feel something is going to give!
Tell us about the creative process behind the video...
I love to direct - it's my thing it's the direction I see myself heading in. I love everything about it. I wanted no input, and full creative control of this particular number. It started off with a brainstorm and initially, the brainstorm was just a daydream that I liked that so I ran with it (hence the video being a daydream). I have a background in acting so of course I took advantage of that.
What inspires you to write?
My day inspires me to write, because no day is the same - I live for the moment in each day so I write that down.
Have you experienced any hurdles on your music journey? If so, how did you overcome them?
Belief is how you overcome anything, take it from me...no pun intended!
What are 3 things we should know about you?
I'm very spiritual - energy is everything. I'm a big Coldplay fan, and have I also have 3 younger siblings.
If you could only release one more song, do you have one in the vault that you would choose?
Daddy Issues - it's the best song I've ever written...probably the best song I'll ever write. I'm not ready to release it just yet though, it's the "golden boot" of my career.
As a woman within a very male dominated industry, what would your one piece of advice be for fellow women looking to pursue a career in music?
It's scary I won't lie, but if you feel so strongly about doing something - GO! Wait for no man...time waits for no one.
What's next for Eldé?
'METAPHORIC STATE OF MIND (VOL.2)' is next! I'm so over being the broken hearted girl. I jumped from one relationship to the next and now I've healed so it's time to close this chapter...I'm over it. Also, hopefully some more directing! Other than that, we'll see where life takes me...
