After dropping their solo projects around 2018, VERSATILEZ thought it was about time they came
together to smash the game wide open. They’ve done just that, and more. After releasing their
widely recognised debut single ‘Different’ and highly sort after EP ‘Blu Wind City’ , they are back with
‘Outchea’ guaranteed to make a huge statement.
The flute melody is a welcoming intro right at the start of ‘Outchea’ and is surrounded by a melody
that accompanies so well before the snare drum gives the edge and bounce this RENK MUSIC beat is
desired for. All three members drop brilliant verses not only aligning with the tune, but with their
own individual as well as groups unique style. This track is versatile indeed emphasising VERSATILEZ
core value and mission statement. Speaking on their long-awaited LP they state; “Pain Roads &
Gold creates an all too familiar dichotomy that a lot of youth today have to navigate through. All that
glitters isn’t gold and you have to go through a lot of graft to get to your eventual destination in life.
Pain Roads & Gold, seizes the idea of hard work, trauma and sacrifice on ones journey to eventual
success, whatever that means to you”.
Hailing from the Lewisham Borough in southeast London, VERSATILEZ identify themselves as the
the literal definition of the word ‘multifaceted ’ able to bring together their own solitary flows and
stories being it fast, slow, cruddy or conscious, flowing effortlessly on each song, with many of them
getting over 40,000 streams on Spotify respectively. With their name being attained from being
versatile, promoting the point that it’s ok and cool to be different, but as a people, we can still come
together and produce magic, with their natural mix of rap, hip hop and grime and is just the fresh
diverse sort of sound the scene needs.
If you thought they were windy before, 2021 is the year that VERSATILEZ blow the mind into a
listeners paradise.
