Imagine trying to get back onto the dating scene and swiping into that ex who hasn't accepted that it's over. It sounds just as awkward as your nosey colleague reading out the bio of your Tinder profile in front of your entire office.
Luckily for Tinder users, the dating app has introduced a brand new block feature which will allow users to block their undesirable phone contacts with a few simple steps.
All it takes is a visit to your profile settings, where the feature to 'block contacts' is now available.
By inputting the contacts that you'd like to block, you'll save yourself the hassle of a cringeworthy encounter with someone you'd rather not see in your dating pool.
The new feature was tested in Japan, India and Korea at first, and reports have found that users blocked an average of a dozen contacts each.
“We may not be able to save you from awkward run-ins at the coffee shop, but we are giving you more control over your experience on Tinder,” said Bernadette Morgan, Group Product Manager of Trust & Safety at Tinder.
She added: “We’re rolling out Block Contacts as an additional resource empowering members with peace of mind by helping create a worry-free space for them to spark new connections."
