DJ Firestarr sits down with R.A, hailing from Brixton to discuss his ‘Influential Records’ on Spotify. As they discuss RA’s last 12 months, RA says "It’s been a mad ting, threw the spanner in the works but I feel like it’s given man time to think about sh*t (a lot different now)... shows & anything else man was doing been a myth, man is learning the digital wave..." but stating "2021 we back!"
This latest episode sees the pair discuss the nature of their relationship, as well as the mutual respect they’ve had for each other since they first linked up when R.A did an exclusive freestyle on DJ Firestarr’s BBC Residency in early 2020, which you can check out below.
As the conversation progresses, R.A goes onto pick his most influential tracks, many coming from the reggae/dancehall genre which he grew up listening to such as Vybz Kartel, Mavado and Aidonia. R.A emphasises "man never really grew up on American rap, only at a certain stage mans started listening, but man wasn't feeling them to buy their CD, man’s ting was officially dancehall influence, straight yard ting..." R.A also confirms his brand new mixtape entitled ‘Parabellum’ will be dropping later on this year.
