Burna Boy and Stormzy have linked up to drop a slow and vibey afrobeats track, ‘Real Life’.
The main message behind this one is to remind us, in particular teenagers, that it can sometimes be hard to remember how lucky we are and to always be grateful for what we’ve got. Stormzy sums it up perfectly when he says “yes we are blessed but it’s harder to see sometimes.”
The Real Life video depicts what life can be like for inner-city teenagers in the UK, and the potentially fatal situations they can sometimes find themselves involved in. Most importantly it shows how these situations are often inherited by future generations, which continues the mindless cycle.
The video also features a spoken word artist, who talks about inner city violence and how it doesn’t just ruin the lives of those involved, but their families too.
It’s the perfect reflection song, which will undoubtedly encourage us to better ourselves.
