Today, it’s been announced that Wiley has signed a deal with Pulse Films and BMG to create a biopic dramatising his journey from his childhood to the beginnings of his fame, according to a report in Variety.

Adam Smith (who’s directed videos for The Chemical Brothers, The Streets and the video for “Wot Do U Call It?”) will direct the film while playwright, author and poet Sabrina Mahfouz will write the screenplay. Janaya Cowie, Wiley’s sister, will be the executive producer, along with SBTV founder Jamal Edwards.

“This is my life, my highs and lows, but it’s not really all about me,” Wiley said. “When I make music, help the scene or even do something like this, it’s like I’m not alone any more. It’s for people who grew up like me. I’m doing it to help people who are lost like me.”
