WhatsApp Confirm Hackers May Have Access To Victim’s Phones

Dozens of people in the UK may have been targeted as part of a no user input hacker attack.

WhatsApp state that a “select number of users” may have been attacked, but there are things you can do to protect yourself.

Sky News have stated that you should update the app, and that the hacking takes place through an unknown call onto a device. The attacks have been targeted to lawyers and there is no way to safeguard against it.

The Financial Times has named the attackers: NSO Group, an Israeli tech company.

Sky News state that the attack is unlikely to affect the average phone user as it is unlikely to be carried out by commodity criminals.
