Koder Asks Important Questions On ‘Why You In The Endz?’

Grime artist Koder has been in the game for years and has established himself as one of the most (quietly) consistent MC’s from the south side of the River Thames. He hasn’t dropped a project since 2013’s ‘The Calm Mixtape’ but that hasn’t stopped him from dropping loose tracks that show his class. In February this year, he dropped ‘Retail Therapy’ an introspective track that details the trials and tribulations that come with working and chasing your dreams. Today, he has dropped the video to another thought provoking track titled ‘Why You In The Endz?’, which features sparse, bouncy production by BlameJay.

The video captures Koder on location in many places within Brockley, Lewisham. From the train station, to the blocks, to his local cafe and off licence, Koder is as animated as ever as he asks questions of society and reiterates the struggle for people that live in the ends. ‘Why You In The Endz?’ sheds light on the problems that derive from gentrification, the police and how the government have been a let down – there is even a put down of our money as Koder states “by the way I hate the new £10”.
