Burna Boy does a freestyle and interview for Tim Westwood

Whilst in London, Nigeria’s Burna Boy  linked up with DJ Tim Westwood for a freestyle and an interview. For his freestyle, Burna Boy sang along to a variety of beats. Burna Boy’s vocals glided on the Come Closer instrumental, and he is also sounded comfortable on the Roll in Peace beat. Burna Boy’s freestyle had him singing in Yoruba and Pidgin.

After his wavy freestyle, he sat down for a chat with Tim Westwood. Burna Boy discussed his brand new album Outside, and his launch party that had appearances from Mabel, J Hus and Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage. Burna Boy also went on to explain the difference between Afrobeats and Afropop, and described his own sound as Afro-fusion. Burna Boy said that he loves the UK sound, and praised J Hus in particular. Burna Boy also said that he believes that drama is holding the UK music industry back.

Burna Boy also cleared up the controversy surrounding him and Drake,  he explained that Drake sent him beats to record on and in the end Drake did not choose those tracks for More Life EP. Burna Boy explained that he held no resentment to Drake over this, and it’s just the music industry for you.
