Ariana Grande, one of the biggest and most popular artists at the moment, has broken a YouTube record for the most listened to artist worldwide.

The 25-year-old singer has been one of the most popular and influential female artists since her first studio album ‘Yours Truly’ in 2013, which debuted number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The video for ‘Thank U, Next’ now has 89 million views and boasts number 1 in the UK charts for the 4th week in a row. The video has the most views of a VEVO and YouTube video in 24 hours and the track is number 1 on Spotify and global top 50. It has racked up 206 million Spotify streams. Grande also holds the record for the most listened to artist on Spotify.

Ariana dropped one of the most anticipated music videos to date. ‘Thank U, Next’ was released on Friday. The video was iconic, including many noughtie popular teen movie references. Ariana took on the persona of many female leads and included famous scenes from Mean Girls, 13 Going on 30 and Bring It On. The video begins with a reenactment of a famous scene from Mean Girls, and even includes a few of the original stars.

The video also references her exes, including her ex Big Sean who she writes can ‘still get it’. The video includes many famous icons, including a cameo of Kris Jenner, who takes the persona of Regina George’s mother in Mean Girls.
