Last year we saw UK superstar, Stormzy, step into a brand new lane and creative a venture which allows him and his team to provide young, talented creatives with some life changing opportunities. The South London talent joined forces with Penguin to create a publishing house where he would give upcoming writers the opportunity to publish their work through this major outlet, which ultimately builds on the greatness that the #Merky team are achieving.

After months of working behind the scenes, the Penguin x #Merky team are back with an exciting new opportunity. The New Writers Prize has now been launched as they aim to connect with young writers and find a new work of fiction, non-fiction or poetry to publish.

The prize is launched in collaboration with The Good Literary Agency and First Story, and the winner will receive a publishing contract with #Merky Books, as well as a direct affiliation and representation from The Good Literary Agency. But, it is not just the winner that gets the benefits of this scheme. Shortlisted writers will also be invited to a special event in London, including writing workshops, presentations from Penguin Random House authors, whilst also receiving personalised, one-on-one feedback.

It is unpublished writers aged between 16 and 30 who are currently residing in the UK or the Republic Of Ireland who are being called for this one, and you can apply by filling in the application over at the link below.
