Croydon songwriter Jords, who has earned his stripes being an effortless and consistent multi-talent, has just released his new single Glide on all digital streaming platforms. Following a successful year in 2018, selling out a headline show at Notting Hill Arts Club, with support from R&B songstress Jaz Karis, Jords is back for a fiery 2019.

Jords is known for combining clever lyrics with raw emotion and thought-provoking concepts; his smooth hybrid of hip-hop, R&B and poetry, making him a breath of fresh air to current sounds. His 2018 EP, After the Ends charted at number 16 in the hip-hop charts and he is one to watch for 2019 with a project currently in the works.

Jords has an ability to captivate an audience with his impressive wordplay which has allowed Jords to work with many esteemed artists (Bridget Kelly, Randy Valentine, Sonna Rele, Bonkaz, Maxi Priest, Marcella and more).

Glide, produced by Jords himself, features a throwback sample of Anthony Hamilton’s Better Days, showcasing one of Jords’ finer skills, seeking out smooth R&B classics and transforming them into punchy, contemporary hits. The track mirrors his inspiration in finding joy in where you are but also appreciating the past giving the track a nostalgic feel.

Jords says: “Too many people try to find joy in something else nowadays, you’ve got to find the joy in where you are and know that the grass is greener where you water it”.

Glide premiered on Rob Bruce’s homegrown show on Capital Xtra during Jay Dolce’s mix. He has also helped to launch a label with mental health charity Key Changes to help people who struggle with their mental health to have a creative and therapeutic outlet.
