‘They always talk about pushing the culture but it takes more than one to make a movement.’ This statement on PUSH Magazine’s website pretty much sums up what the title is trying to achieve.

The new publication is a welcomed platform for rising UK artists, it also has features on street fashion, culture and a sprinkle of politics! Even though we are a generation of Instagram, YouTube and Twitter, I think we can all appreciate a well designed mag with banging content.

The first issue of PUSH was released in June and it looks very promising. Novelist was featured on the front page, photographed by Vicky Grout, so already it is clear that some big names in the industry are involved with the mag. issue no.1 includes features from Belly Squad, Jamie Isaac and rising Tottenham rapper Oscar worldpeace. It also contains behind the scenes photos and interviews from Radar Radio.

Patta, a Dutch lifestyle brand was the focus of the fashion piece in the first issue. It is an in-depth article explaining how the brand first started and how it’s influence is rooted in music. The photography, graphic design and content of the piece is to an extremely high standard and when reading it you would have no idea that it was Push’s first ever fashion feature.

Overall, the new magazine is pretty sick and I would definitely recommend getting yourself a copy. It is available to purchase at http://www.pushmagazine.bigcartel.com and even though it is advertised as free, you do have to pay £2 for shipping. However, they state on the website that they are hoping to change this for future issues, making it a completely free magazine. It will be released bi-monthly and from the success of the first issue it looks like the mag is certainly one to watch.
