On The Move: What You Missed At Spotify’s ‘Who We Be Event’

Last night Spotify made history at their Who We Be event that took place at Alexandra Palace. The indoor festival type night included drinks, food stalls and photo booths.

On entrance you’re immediately greeted by thousands of people. The first thing I saw was a Spotify stall that gifted the first 300 Spotify premium users with a wristband. This wristband granted you 2 free drinks and a Who We Be merch top. Along with that section was countless food stalls, from tacos to jerk chicken, Ally Pally had it all.

The line up was certainly one for the books as we saw the likes of Not3s, NSG, Tory Lanez and French Montana. The opening act was Chip, followed by NSG. Ghetts then performed all of his grime bangers then he was shortly followed by Raye. The secret guest performance was Unknown T who came out with a bang performing his popular single Homerton B. Not3s then made his appearance who was then followed by AJ Tracey. They obviously did their hit collaboration Butterfly.

Canada’s Tory Lanez then came out after a short interlude performing all his bangers. He ended up crowd surfing along the middle section and standing up on someone’s shoulders in the middle of the audience. Lethal Bizzle performed after Tory’s set. Snoochie Shy and Tiffany Calver were DJ-ing the whole night too, in-between acts they’d dish out the latest tracks to keep the crowd hyped. Craig David then did his set also presenting TS5. French Montana then jumped out and the crowd went crazy, he surprised us with Steff London who obviously performed Hurtin’ Me and we though the surprises were over… we were wrong! Krept and Konan then came out of no where to perform their old school track Don’t Waste My Time remix with Chip. French then closed the show with No Stylist which left an immense impression on everyone.

Spotify’s Who We Be returns annually so make sure you don’t miss out on next years!
