Netflix has released the trailer for its new series The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann, and have announced that it will be released tomorrow, March 15.

The popular streaming site will release the first part of the 8 part series tomorrow and has come under scrutiny by the parents who did not want the series made. Gerry and Kate McCann argued that the series could hinder the investigation into the young girl’s disappearance, which took place on the 3rd of May 2007 in their Portugal holiday apartment. Key individuals within the documentary have also asked to not be included on camera, which has slowed down the distribution process.

The family of Madeleine have stated that their views are not reflected in the programme and do not wish to comment on the issue further.

Netflix have commented stating, “The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann goes beyond the headlines and takes a unique look at the facts of the case as well as its impact on media standards around the world.”
