Loyle Carner Delivers Second Album ‘Not Waving, But Drowning’

It’s been two years since Loyle Carner wow’d the scene with his debut album Yesterdays Gone, and what a journey it has been. The talented lyricist set the bar extremely high on his debut, showcasing his endless amounts of talent as a songwriter, rapper and all round creative. Now, it is time for him to deliver the follow up, and like many other artists in a similar position, there was so much question whether the second album would live up to the success of the first…

There is definite elevation and development in his music this time round. Loyle has most definitely mastered his craft and let everyone know that he is here to stay. We see him continue to deliver those poetic lyrics and infectious melodies which make his music so sonically pleasing, whilst also enlisting some flawless talents to compliment his work. We see the likes of Sampha, Jorja Smith, Jordan Rakei, and more, join Carner on this offering, and the collaborations most definitely apply the finishing touches to a dope body of work.
