Jesse James Solomon has dropped a surprise six-track project entitled ‘Strata’.

I have been a big fan of Jesse James Solomon for the last 5 years, hearing of him for the first time through collaborations with another favourite of mine Rejjie Snow. He then released ‘Jesse From SE’ in 2014, which I fell in love with and still, four years on, regularly listen to.

Coming up at a similar time to Loyle Carner, the South London based artist, isn’t your stereotypical rapper; at a time when a lot of rappers are making pumping, fast paced tracks, Jesse James tells a story through his rapping, and he remains in his own lane.

The project is titled ‘Strata’ after the block of flats which towers over Jesse’s South-East London neighbourhood, featured on the cover art. This was actually painted by Jesse himself!

He has previously collaborated with reputable artists such as Skepta and Rejjie Snow and ‘Strata’ features guest vocals from Eliza and is produced by Felix Joseph.

‘Strata’ is available to stream on all digital platforms now!
