Ella Mai Wins First Grammy Award For Best R&B Song

Ella Mai 61st Grammy Awards

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards has finally taken place, after months of anticipation for who would win, and the results are in.

London native, and singer/songwriter, Ella Mai made one of her biggest musical accomplishments to date, as she won her first ever Grammy Award. She won Best R&B Song for her 2018 chart-topping single “Boo’d Up”. Ella came prepared to win as she sported a new straight-bob hair cut, and a remarkable royal blue dress. Both the singer and DJ Mustard reacted to the amazing news on Twitter:

Ella Mai wasn’t the only UK talent to receive a Grammy Award this year, as fellow singer/songwriter Dua Lipa went home with two awards; making her the third UK female artist to win two Grammys in the same night, after Amy Winehouse and Adele. Dua won Best New Artist and Best Dance Record, and seems to be overwhelmed with the news:

The 61st Annual Grammy Awards have seen some first time Grammy winners, two time Grammy winners, amazing performances, and more. English musician Sting also shared a win for Best Reggae Album with Shaggy, and Cardi B made history as she became the first female rapper to win Best Rap Album.
