Ella Mai And Jorja Smith Are GRAMMYs Nominees!

It’s been an amazing year for UK urban music in general this year and as the amazing news keeps rolling in we now have the pleasure of congratulating fast rising RnB star, Ella Mai for being nominated for the “song of the year” award with her huge hit single, Boo’ed Up at this year’s Grammys. Ella Mai has been broke records and became a viral sensation when her platinum selling single’s Boo’ed Up and follow up smash, Trip, she also dropped her very impressive debut album this year that has been an international success, helping to cement here further in the ever flourishing R&B scene. Following her success, Ella Mai also made an appearance on the  Meek Mill’s recently released Championships album, as well as securing features form the likes of Chris Brown, John Legend H.E.R. on her own project. These are all seemingly big moves for Ella and can only really help her build and expand her current  audience.

Also deserving of all the accolades that come her way and more, R&B’s sultry songstress and unassuming songwriter, Jorja Smith has also enjoyed an amazing year this go around, again proving all of the naysayers wrong and seemingly making it very clear that almost anything is possible for UK music in the R&b sector as she too gets the nod for a coveted Grammy award nomination. Jorja has been nominated in the Best New Artist category among other extremely talented artists and multifaceted musicians, respectively, such as H.E.R., Bebe Rexha and another UK based artist in Dua Lipa.

These are very exciting times for UK Urban music and an even bigger statement for the woman of the scene as they take centre stage this time round in representing for the dope music that represents our culture and what we believe in.
