Dr Dre: Detox Will Have To Wait

Hip Hop Legend Dr Dre has released a statement explaining he is ready to take his first steps into retirement by announcing he is taking a break from music so he can spend more time with his family. The fourty-six year old rapper/producer stated in a recent interview that it is time to “wrap it up for a minute”.

“I’ve been working on music for 27 years now, and the longest I’ve ever been out of the studio in 27 years has been two weeks.”

Fans of Dre will be bitterly dissapointed at this news due to the expected release of his latest Album Detox being delayed further. The rap mogul gave fans a taste of what’s to come by releasing two tracks off the album last year, however no release date has been set in stone despite Dre first bragging about the idea back in 2002.

Music projects aside, Dre has been dipping his toe’s into the business market recently with the sale of his Beats Electronics company pocketing him with a hefty $309 million (£190 million) in return.

Dre was adamant that despite this hiatus on his music career, it was not going to be his final showdown.

“I’m never gonna stop music, it’s like air to me. I’m gonna take a little bit of a break, enjoy some time with the family.”

I think this news will please all of his fans and peers alike.

The wait for Detox continues.
