British actor Aml Ameen receives great response for new independent film ‘Dara Ju’
Aml Ameen has just been given a great rating review for his indie film, ‘Dara Ju’, which was just premiered at SXSW! The independent film, directed by Anthony Onah, has received an amazing review from the likes of Indie Wire and Deadline.
Ameen plays the role of a first-generation Nigerian-American financier named Seyi, who struggles with love, family and drug dependency as his goals and ambitions steer him down a criminal path. The title, which means ‘better’ in the Yoruba language, is a reflective of Seyi’s battle between navigating the field of his culture with his deep-seated desire to succeed, no matter what.
The British actor, 31, has previously hinted via social media that he was part of a very special independent project, which involved him filming in Nigeria.
“With commitment anything, with team work everything” 1-13 Almost done on this Global Indie; myself, crew, producers, and this guy achieved, something damn near impossible on our budget. A story globally told, about a “Nigerian American financier struggling with love, family, and prescription drug dependency, while his ambitions take him down a criminal path. #Daraju #Proud Nija is the perfect madness ♥️👊🏾 🇬🇧🇳🇬🇺🇸
