5 UK Artists To Watch In 2019

UK music continues to grow each year, receiving worldwide recognition from the likes of Drake to Chris Brown, and it’s not about to stop anytime soon. Here, we look at five artists who are set to have a big year in the game.

Daniel OG – A man who may have gone under the radar with not many releases in the past 12 months is Daniel OG. The Neverland Clan member has recently brought out various tracks, with the most recent Uber XL proving he can still bring the wave when he feels like it. Whilst 2018 didn’t seem the busiest of years for OG, he still found himself being recognised and managed to open up for Playboi Carti when the U.S rapper performed in London. 2019 should be an exciting year for Daniel OG with his project Preseason to drop very soon.

Sam Wise – House of Pharaoh’s member Sam Wise looks set to have a busy year as he goes on a solo mission with his current music. Wise has a versatile sound and can be found creating different vibes every time he brings out a new track. His most recent LED (Light Up) has a more subtle sound than the usual but Wise still brings his flow and lyrics to make the track his own. If he can keep consistent, Sam Wise is set to be one of the breakthrough artists of this year.

Knucks – Knucks had a relatively quiet 2018 but the potential in the UK rapper is huge, and 2019 could be a very productive one for the No Days Off artist. He’s recently been teasing a new single titled Rice & Stew which once again shows off his effortless style and lyrics in abundance. The past year saw Knucks work with the likes of Not3s, T Mulla and SNE, with the stylish UK artist also bringing out a rare single in 24. Knucks looks set to release a good body of work this year with Rice & Stew kicking off 2019.

Blaze YL – Another House of Pharaoh member in Blaze YL makes the cut and is set for a positive 2019. Whilst being a collective, H.O.P are known for their individual style and Blaze is showing he can do this as a solo artist. He recently dropped the visuals for his new single No Delay which displays Blaze’s unique and gritty sound, which he has the ability to use on any type of production. It’s not certain whether the UK rapper will continue going solo or carry on working with House of Pharaoh’s, but it’s sure to be a year to remember.

Jeshi – The final UK artist who is set for a big year is Jeshi. 2018 was positive for the East London musician having recorded a Colors session with one of his standout tracks Rush. Jeshi’s sound is unique and he sets himself apart from other rappers with his use of words and realism to his sound. 2019 looks to be very promising for Jeshi, as he begins the year joining slowthai on his Brexit Bandit tour which is only going to bring more people in on his wave.
